Administrator

Any administrator should excel at:
- Providing information to supervisors, co-workers, and subordinates, as well as communicating with people outside the organization, representing the organization to customers, the public, government, and other external sources. This information can be exchanged in person, in writing, or by telephone or e-mail.
- Maintaining information files and processing paperwork.
- Recruiting, interviewing, selecting, hiring, and promoting employees in an organization, and getting them to work together to accomplish tasks by encouraging and building mutual trust, respect, and cooperation.
Mediator

Mediators should be capable of:
- Providing personal assistance, medical attention, emotional support, or other personal care to others such as coworkers, customers, or patients.
- Developing constructive and cooperative working relationships with others, and maintaining them over time.
- Performing for people or dealing directly with the public. This includes serving customers in restaurants and stores, and receiving clients or guests.
- Handling complaints, settling disputes, and resolving grievances and conflicts, or otherwise negotiating with others.
Other work activities related to Public relations specialists
- Responding to requests for information from the media or designate an appropriate spokesperson or information source.
- Conferring with production or the supporting personnel for producing or coordinating production of advertisements or promotions.
- Arranging public appearances, lectures, contests, or exhibits for clients for increasing product or service awareness or for promoting goodwill.
- Studying the objectives, promotional policies, or needs of organizations for developing public relations strategies that will influence public opinion or promoting ideas, products, or services.
- Conferring with other managers for identifying trends or key group interests or concerns or for providing advices on business decisions.
- Consulting with advertising agencies or staff to arranging promotional campaigns in all types of media for products, organizations, or individuals.
- Coaching client representatives in effective communication with the public or with employees.
- Preparing or delivering speeches to further public relations objectives.
