Archetype 7 Mediator

Mediators should be capable of:

  • Providing personal assistance, medical attention, emotional support, or other personal care to others such as coworkers, customers, or patients.
  • Developing constructive and cooperative working relationships with others, and maintaining them over time.
  • Performing for people or dealing directly with the public. This includes serving customers in restaurants and stores, and receiving clients or guests.
  • Handling complaints, settling disputes, and resolving grievances and conflicts, or otherwise negotiating with others.

Inspector

Archetype 6 Inspector

Inspectors should be great at:

  • Estimating sizes, distances, and quantities; or determining time, costs, resources, or materials needed to perform a work activity.
  • Observing, receiving, and otherwise obtaining information from all relevant sources.
  • Identifying information by categorizing, estimating, recognizing differences or similarities, and detecting changes in circumstances or events.
  • Inspecting equipment, structures, or materials to identify the cause of errors or other problems or defects.

Other work activities related to License clerks

  • Verifying the authenticity of documents, such as foreign identification or immigration documents.
  • Mailing driver’s licenses to out of county or out of state applicants.
  • Collecting prescribed fees for licenses.
  • Coding information on license applications for entry into computers.
  • Evaluating information on applications for verifying completeness and accuracy and for determining whether applicants are qualified for obtaining desired licenses.
  • Answering questions or providing advices to the public regarding licensing policies, procedures, or regulations.
  • Maintaining records of applications made or licensing fees collected.
  • Questioning applicants for obtaining required information, such as name, address, or age, and recording data on prescribed forms.
  • Updating operational records or licensing information, using computer terminals.
  • Informing customers by mail or telephone of additional steps they need for taking for obtaining licenses.
  • Performing routine data entry or other office assistance activities, including creating, sorting, photocopying, distributing, or filing documents.
