Mentor

Any mentor is expected to perform well at:
- Identifying the developmental needs of others and coaching, mentoring, or otherwise helping others to improve their knowledge or skills.
- Providing guidance and direction to subordinates, including setting performance standards and monitoring performance.
- Convincing others to accept and idea or to otherwise change their minds or actions in accordance to the companies objectives.
- Identifying the educational needs of others, developing formal educational or training programs or classes, and teaching or instructing others.
Innovator

Innovators will usually have four main goals:
- Developing or creating new applications, relationships, systems, or products.
- Providing creative ideas or artistic contributions.
- Keeping up-to-date technically and applying new knowledge to your job.
- Benchmarking, experimenting and testing novel approaches to solving problems.
Other work activities related to Hearing aid specialists
- Selecting and administering tests for evaluating hearing or related disabilities.
- Administering basic hearing tests including air conduction, bone conduction, or speech audiometry tests.
- Training clients to using hearing aids or other augmentative communication devices.
- Creating or modifying impressions for earmolds and hearing aid shells.
- Maintaining or repairing hearing aids or other communication devices.
- Demonstrating assistive listening devices (alds) to clients.
- Diagnosing and treating hearing or related disabilities under the direction of an audiologist.
- Performing basic screening procedures, such as pure tone screening, otoacoustic screening, immittance screening, and screening of ear canal status using otoscope.
- Assisting audiologists in performing aural procedures, such as real ear measurements, speech audiometry, auditory brainstem responses, electronystagmography, and cochlear implant mapping.
- Reading current literature, talk with colleagues, and participating in professional organizations or conferences for keeping abreast of developments in audiology.
