Archetype 2 Mentor

Any mentor is expected to perform well at:

  • Identifying the developmental needs of others and coaching, mentoring, or otherwise helping others to improve their knowledge or skills.
  • Providing guidance and direction to subordinates, including setting performance standards and monitoring performance.
  • Convincing others to accept and idea or to otherwise change their minds or actions in accordance to the companies objectives.
  • Identifying the educational needs of others, developing formal educational or training programs or classes, and teaching or instructing others.

Innovator

Archetype 5 Innovator

Innovators will usually have four main goals:

  • Developing or creating new applications, relationships, systems, or products.
  • Providing creative ideas or artistic contributions.
  • Keeping up-to-date technically and applying new knowledge to your job.
  • Benchmarking, experimenting and testing novel approaches to solving problems.

Other work activities related to Hearing aid specialists

  • Selecting and administering tests for evaluating hearing or related disabilities.
  • Administering basic hearing tests including air conduction, bone conduction, or speech audiometry tests.
  • Training clients to using hearing aids or other augmentative communication devices.
  • Creating or modifying impressions for earmolds and hearing aid shells.
  • Maintaining or repairing hearing aids or other communication devices.
  • Demonstrating assistive listening devices (alds) to clients.
  • Diagnosing and treating hearing or related disabilities under the direction of an audiologist.
  • Performing basic screening procedures, such as pure tone screening, otoacoustic screening, immittance screening, and screening of ear canal status using otoscope.
  • Assisting audiologists in performing aural procedures, such as real ear measurements, speech audiometry, auditory brainstem responses, electronystagmography, and cochlear implant mapping.
  • Reading current literature, talk with colleagues, and participating in professional organizations or conferences for keeping abreast of developments in audiology.
