Supervisor

Any supervisor should excel at:
- Monitoring and reviewing information from materials, events, or the environment.
- Detecting or assessing problems whether real or potential.
- Monitoring and controlling resources and overseeing the spending of money.
Mediator

Mediators should be capable of:
- Providing personal assistance, medical attention, emotional support, or other personal care to others such as coworkers, customers, or patients.
- Developing constructive and cooperative working relationships with others, and maintaining them over time.
- Performing for people or dealing directly with the public. This includes serving customers in restaurants and stores, and receiving clients or guests.
- Handling complaints, settling disputes, and resolving grievances and conflicts, or otherwise negotiating with others.
Other work activities related to Veterinary technologists and technicians
- Maintaining controlled drug inventory and related logbooks.
- Supervising or training veterinary students or other staff members.
- Monitoring medical supplies and placing orders when inventory is low.
- Restraining animals during exams or procedures.
- Discussing medical health of pets with clients, such as post operative status.
- Scheduling appointments and procedures for animals.
- Administering anesthesia to animals, under the direction of a veterinarian, and monitoring animals’ responses to anesthetics so that dosages can be adjusted.
- Caring for and monitoring the conditions of animals recovering from surgery.
- Preparing and administering medications, vaccines, serums, or treatments, as prescribed by veterinarians.
- Performing laboratory tests on blood, urine, or feces, such as urinalyses or blood counts, to assisting in the diagnosis and treatment of animal health problems.
- Administering emergency first aid, such as performing emergency resuscitation or other lifesaving procedures.
