Mediators should be capable of:

  • Providing personal assistance, medical attention, emotional support, or other personal care to others such as coworkers, customers, or patients.
  • Developing constructive and cooperative working relationships with others, and maintaining them over time.
  • Performing for people or dealing directly with the public. This includes serving customers in restaurants and stores, and receiving clients or guests.
  • Handling complaints, settling disputes, and resolving grievances and conflicts, or otherwise negotiating with others.

Artisan

Archetype 9 Artisan

Great artisans are usually capable of:

  • Using hands and arms in handling, installing, positioning, and moving materials.
  • Performing precise and skillful manipulation of small objects.
  • Being active and proactive in regards to physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling materials.

Other work activities related to Massage therapists

  • Performing other adjunctive therapies or treatment techniques in addition to massages.
  • Conferring with clients about their medical histories and problems with stress or pain for determining how massaging will be most helpful.
  • Applying finger and hand pressure to specific points of the body.
  • Massaging and kneading muscles and soft tissues of the body for providing treatment for medical conditions, injuries, or wellness maintenance.
  • Maintaining treatment records.
  • Providing clients with guidance and information about techniques for postural improvement and stretching, strengthening, relaxation, and rehabilitative exercises.
  • Assessing clients’ soft tissue conditions, joints quality and function, muscle strength, and range of motion.
  • Developing and proposing client treatment plans for specifying which types of massaging are to be used.
  • Using complementary aids, such as infrared lamps, wet compresses, ice, and whirlpool baths for promoting clients’ recovery, relaxation, and wellbeing.
