Mediator

Mediators should be capable of:
- Providing personal assistance, medical attention, emotional support, or other personal care to others such as coworkers, customers, or patients.
- Developing constructive and cooperative working relationships with others, and maintaining them over time.
- Performing for people or dealing directly with the public. This includes serving customers in restaurants and stores, and receiving clients or guests.
- Handling complaints, settling disputes, and resolving grievances and conflicts, or otherwise negotiating with others.
Supervisor

Any supervisor should excel at:
- Monitoring and reviewing information from materials, events, or the environment.
- Detecting or assessing problems whether real or potential.
- Monitoring and controlling resources and overseeing the spending of money.
Other work activities related to Food service managers
- Testing cooked food by tasting and smelling it for ensuring palatability and flavor conformity.
- Investigating and resolving complaints regarding food quality, service, or accommodations.
- Scheduling and receiving food and beverage deliveries, checking delivery contents for verifying product quality and quantity.
- Monitoring food preparation methods, portion sizes, and garnishing and presentation of food for ensuring that food is prepared and presented in an acceptable manner.
- Monitoring budgets and payroll records, and reviewing financial transactions for ensuring that expenditures are authorized and budgeted.
- Scheduling staff hours and assigning duties.
- Monitoring compliance with health and fire regulations regarding food preparation and serving, and building maintenance in lodging and dining facilities.
- Coordinating assignments of cooking personnel for ensuring economical using of food and timely preparation.
- Keeping records required by government agencies regarding sanitation or food subsidies.
