Technician

Archetype 11 Technician

Technicians will often be asked these tasks:

  • Providing documentation, detailed instructions, drawings, or specifications to tell others about how devices, parts, equipment, or structures are to be fabricated, constructed, assembled, modified, maintained, or used.
  • Using computers and computer systems (including hardware and software) to program, write software, set up functions, enter data, or process information.
  • Servicing, repairing, calibrating, regulating, fine-tuning, or testing machines, devices, and equipment that operate primarily on the basis of electrical or electronic (not mechanical) principles.

Mentor

Archetype 2 Mentor

Any mentor is expected to perform well at:

  • Identifying the developmental needs of others and coaching, mentoring, or otherwise helping others to improve their knowledge or skills.
  • Providing guidance and direction to subordinates, including setting performance standards and monitoring performance.
  • Convincing others to accept and idea or to otherwise change their minds or actions in accordance to the companies objectives.
  • Identifying the educational needs of others, developing formal educational or training programs or classes, and teaching or instructing others.

Other work activities related to Document management specialists

  • Monitoring regulatory activity for maintaining compliance with records and document management laws.
  • Writing, reviewing, or executing plans for testing new or established document management systems.
  • Searching electronic sources, such as databases or repositories, or manual sources for information.
  • Retrieving electronic assets from repository for distribution to users, collecting and returning to repository, if necessary.
  • Proposing recommendations for improving content management system capabilities.
  • Preparing supporting documentation and training materials for end users of document management systems.
  • Exercising security surveillance over document processing, reproduction, distribution, storage, or archiving.
  • Implementing scanning or other automated data entry procedures, using imaging devices and document imaging software.
  • Documenting technical functions and specifications for new or proposed content management systems.
