Archetype 2 Mentor

Any mentor is expected to perform well at:

  • Identifying the developmental needs of others and coaching, mentoring, or otherwise helping others to improve their knowledge or skills.
  • Providing guidance and direction to subordinates, including setting performance standards and monitoring performance.
  • Convincing others to accept and idea or to otherwise change their minds or actions in accordance to the companies objectives.
  • Identifying the educational needs of others, developing formal educational or training programs or classes, and teaching or instructing others.

Mediator

Archetype 7 Mediator

Mediators should be capable of:

  • Providing personal assistance, medical attention, emotional support, or other personal care to others such as coworkers, customers, or patients.
  • Developing constructive and cooperative working relationships with others, and maintaining them over time.
  • Performing for people or dealing directly with the public. This includes serving customers in restaurants and stores, and receiving clients or guests.
  • Handling complaints, settling disputes, and resolving grievances and conflicts, or otherwise negotiating with others.

Other work activities related to Demonstrators and product promoters

  • Demonstrating or explaining products, methods, or services for persuading customers for purchasing products or using services.
  • Providing product samples, coupons, informational brochures, or other incentives for persuading people for buying products.
  • Keeping areas neat while working and returning items for correcting locations following demonstrations.
  • Selling products being promoted and keep records of sales.
  • Setting up and arranging displays or demonstration areas for attracting the attention of prospective customers.
  • Suggesting specific product purchases to meet customers’ needs.
  • Transporting, assembling, and disassembling materials used in presentations.
  • Identifying interested and qualified customers for providing them with additional information.
  • Practicing demonstrations for ensuring that they are running smoothly.
  • Preparing or altering presentation contents for targeting specific audiences.
  • Learning about competitors’ products or consumers’ interests or concerns for answering questions or providing more thorough information.
