Archetype 7 Mediator

Mediators should be capable of:

  • Providing personal assistance, medical attention, emotional support, or other personal care to others such as coworkers, customers, or patients.
  • Developing constructive and cooperative working relationships with others, and maintaining them over time.
  • Performing for people or dealing directly with the public. This includes serving customers in restaurants and stores, and receiving clients or guests.
  • Handling complaints, settling disputes, and resolving grievances and conflicts, or otherwise negotiating with others.

Administrator

Archetype 1 Administrator

Any administrator should excel at:

  • Providing information to supervisors, co-workers, and subordinates, as well as communicating with people outside the organization, representing the organization to customers, the public, government, and other external sources. This information can be exchanged in person, in writing, or by telephone or e-mail.
  • Maintaining information files and processing paperwork.
  • Recruiting, interviewing, selecting, hiring, and promoting employees in an organization, and getting them to work together to accomplish tasks by encouraging and building mutual trust, respect, and cooperation.

Other work activities related to Clinical nurse specialists

  • Coordinating or conducting educational programs or in service training sessions on topics such as clinical procedures.
  • Observing, interviewing, and assessing patients for identifying caring needs.
  • Providing directing caring by performing comprehensive health assessments, developing differential diagnoses, conducting specialized tests, or prescribing medications or treatments.
  • Providing specialized directing and indirect caring to inpatients and outpatients within a designated specialty, such as obstetrics, neurology, oncology, or neonatal caring.
  • Maintaining departmental policies, procedures, objectives, or infection controlling standards.
  • Collaborating with other health caring professionals and service providers for ensuring optimal patient caring.
  • Developing nursing service philosophies, goals, policies, priorities, or procedures.
  • Developing, implementing, or evaluating standards of nursing practice in specialty area such as pediatrics, acute caring, and geriatrics.
  • Developing or assisting others in development of caring and treatment plans.
