Mediator

Mediators should be capable of:
- Providing personal assistance, medical attention, emotional support, or other personal care to others such as coworkers, customers, or patients.
- Developing constructive and cooperative working relationships with others, and maintaining them over time.
- Performing for people or dealing directly with the public. This includes serving customers in restaurants and stores, and receiving clients or guests.
- Handling complaints, settling disputes, and resolving grievances and conflicts, or otherwise negotiating with others.
Administrator

Any administrator should excel at:
- Providing information to supervisors, co-workers, and subordinates, as well as communicating with people outside the organization, representing the organization to customers, the public, government, and other external sources. This information can be exchanged in person, in writing, or by telephone or e-mail.
- Maintaining information files and processing paperwork.
- Recruiting, interviewing, selecting, hiring, and promoting employees in an organization, and getting them to work together to accomplish tasks by encouraging and building mutual trust, respect, and cooperation.
Other work activities related to Childcare workers
- Maintaining a safe playing environment.
- Communicating with children’s parents or guardians about daily activities, behaviors, and related issues.
- Assisting in preparing food and serving meals and refreshments to children.
- Creating developmentally appropriate lesson plans.
- Regulating children’s rest periods.
- Performing general administrative tasks, such as taking attendance, editing internal paperwork, and making phone calls.
- Organizing and participating in recreational activities and outings, such as games and field trips.
- Providing caring for mentally disturbed, delinquent, or handicapped children.
- Performing general personnel functions, such as supervision, training, and scheduling.
- Supporting children’s emotional and social development, encouraging understanding of others and positive self concepts.
- Caring for children in institutional setting, such as group homes, nursery schools, private businesses, or schools for the handicapped.
- Sanitizing toys and the equipment for playing.
