Archetype 7 Mediator

Mediators should be capable of:

  • Providing personal assistance, medical attention, emotional support, or other personal care to others such as coworkers, customers, or patients.
  • Developing constructive and cooperative working relationships with others, and maintaining them over time.
  • Performing for people or dealing directly with the public. This includes serving customers in restaurants and stores, and receiving clients or guests.
  • Handling complaints, settling disputes, and resolving grievances and conflicts, or otherwise negotiating with others.

Administrator

Archetype 1 Administrator

Any administrator should excel at:

  • Providing information to supervisors, co-workers, and subordinates, as well as communicating with people outside the organization, representing the organization to customers, the public, government, and other external sources. This information can be exchanged in person, in writing, or by telephone or e-mail.
  • Maintaining information files and processing paperwork.
  • Recruiting, interviewing, selecting, hiring, and promoting employees in an organization, and getting them to work together to accomplish tasks by encouraging and building mutual trust, respect, and cooperation.

Other work activities related to Healthcare social workers

  • Collaborating with other professionals for evaluating patients’ medical or physical conditions and for assessing client needs.
  • Investigating child abuse or neglect cases and taking authorized protective action when necessary.
  • Referring patient, client, or family to community resources to assisting in recovery from mental or physical illness and for providing access to services such as financial assistance, legal aid, housing, job placement or education.
  • Counseling clients and patients in individual and group sessions for helping them in overcome dependencies, recovering from illness, and adjusting to life.
  • Organizing supportive groups or counseling family members for assisting them in understanding, dealing with, and supporting the client or patient.
  • Advocating for clients or patients for resolving crises.
  • Identifying environmental impediments to client or patient progress through interviews and reviewing of patient records.
  • Utilizing consultation data and social working experience for planning and coordinating client or patient caring and rehabilitation, following through for ensuring service efficacy.
