Innovators will usually have four main goals:

  • Developing or creating new applications, relationships, systems, or products.
  • Providing creative ideas or artistic contributions.
  • Keeping up-to-date technically and applying new knowledge to your job.
  • Benchmarking, experimenting and testing novel approaches to solving problems.

Administrator

Archetype 1 Administrator

Any administrator should excel at:

  • Providing information to supervisors, co-workers, and subordinates, as well as communicating with people outside the organization, representing the organization to customers, the public, government, and other external sources. This information can be exchanged in person, in writing, or by telephone or e-mail.
  • Maintaining information files and processing paperwork.
  • Recruiting, interviewing, selecting, hiring, and promoting employees in an organization, and getting them to work together to accomplish tasks by encouraging and building mutual trust, respect, and cooperation.

Other work activities related to Telephone operators

  • Listening to customer requests, referring to alphabetical or geographical directories for answering questions and providing telephone information.
  • Suggesting and checking adequate spellings, locations, or listing formats to customers lacking details or with incomplete information.
  • Offering special assistance to persons such as those who are unable of dialing or who are in emergency situations.
  • Observing signaling lights on switchboards, and dialing or pressing buttons for making connections.
  • Operating telephone switchboards and systems for advancing and completing connections, including those for local, long distance, paying telephone, mobile, person to person, and emergency calls.
  • Providing assistance for customers with special billing requests.
  • Calculating and quoting charges for services such as long distance connections.
  • Monitoring automated systems for placing collecting calls and intervene for a callers needing assistance.
  • Performing clerical duties such as typing, proofreading, and sorting mail.
