Archetype 9 Artisan

Great artisans are usually capable of:

  • Using hands and arms in handling, installing, positioning, and moving materials.
  • Performing precise and skillful manipulation of small objects.
  • Being active and proactive in regards to physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling materials.

Controller

Archetype 4 Controller

Controllers are expected to be good at:

  • Using either control mechanisms or direct physical activity to operate manufacturing systems.
  • Working with hand operated industrial machines and power tools.
  • Adjusting knobs, levers, and physical or touch sensitive buttons in industrial devices.
  • Running, maneuvering, navigating, or driving vehicles or mechanized equipment, such as forklifts, passenger vehicles, aircraft, or watercraft.

Other work activities related to Sewing machine operators

  • Monitoring machine operation for detecting problems such as defective stitching, breaks in threads, or machine malfunctions.
  • Positioning items under needles, using marks on machines, clamps, templates, or cloth as guides.
  • Placing spools of threads, cords, or other materials on spindles, inserting bobbins, and threading ends through machine guides and components.
  • Matching clothing pieces in the right sequences prior to sewing them, and verifying that dyeing lots and patterns are matched.
  • Guiding garments or garment parts under the machines needles and presser feet for sewing the parts together.
  • Starting and operating or tending of machines, such as single or double needle serging and flat bed felling machines, for automatically joining, reinforcing, or decorating materials or articles.
  • Recording quantities of materials processed.
  • Inspecting garments, and examining repairing tags and markings on garments for locating defects or damage, and marking errors as necessary.
  • Selecting supplies such as fasteners and threads, according to job requirements.
