Archetype 4 Controller

Controllers are expected to be good at:

  • Using either control mechanisms or direct physical activity to operate manufacturing systems.
  • Working with hand operated industrial machines and power tools.
  • Adjusting knobs, levers, and physical or touch sensitive buttons in industrial devices.
  • Running, maneuvering, navigating, or driving vehicles or mechanized equipment, such as forklifts, passenger vehicles, aircraft, or watercraft.

Artisan

Archetype 9 Artisan

Great artisans are usually capable of:

  • Using hands and arms in handling, installing, positioning, and moving materials.
  • Performing precise and skillful manipulation of small objects.
  • Being active and proactive in regards to physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling materials.

Other work activities related to Service unit operators, oil, gas, and mining

  • Applying green technologies or techniques such as the using of coiled tubing, slim hole drilling, horizontal drilling, hydraulic fracturing, or gas lifting systems.
  • Maintaining and performing safety inspections on equipment and tools.
  • Listening to engines, rotary chains, or other equipment for detecting faulty operations or unusual well conditions.
  • Conferring with others to gathering information regarding pipe or tool sizes or borehole conditions in wells.
  • Driving truck mounted units to well sites.
  • Installing pressure controlling devices onto wellheads.
  • Threading cables through derrick pulleys, using hand tools.
  • Operating pumps that circulate water, oil, or other fluids through wells for removing sand or other materials obstructing the free flow of oil.
  • Closing and sealing wells no longer in using.
  • Operating controls for raising derricks or leveling rigs.
  • Directing drilling crews performing activities such as assembling and connecting pipe, applying weights to drill pipes, or drilling around lodged obstacles.
