Archetype 9 Artisan

Great artisans are usually capable of:

  • Using hands and arms in handling, installing, positioning, and moving materials.
  • Performing precise and skillful manipulation of small objects.
  • Being active and proactive in regards to physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling materials.

Inspector

Archetype 6 Inspector

Inspectors should be great at:

  • Estimating sizes, distances, and quantities; or determining time, costs, resources, or materials needed to perform a work activity.
  • Observing, receiving, and otherwise obtaining information from all relevant sources.
  • Identifying information by categorizing, estimating, recognizing differences or similarities, and detecting changes in circumstances or events.
  • Inspecting equipment, structures, or materials to identify the cause of errors or other problems or defects.

Other work activities related to Rotary drill operators, oil and gas

  • Training crews, and introducing them to drilling procedures for working safer and more effective.
  • Observing pressure gauge and moving throttles and levers for controlling the speed of rotary tables, and to regulating pressure of tools at bottoms of boreholes.
  • Counting sections of drilling rods for determining depths of boreholes.
  • Pushing levers and pedals for controlling gasoline, diesel, electric, or steam machines for lowering and raising drill pipes and casings in and out of wells.
  • Connecting sections of drill pipe, using hand tools and powered wrenches and tongs.
  • Maintaining records of footage drilled, location and nature of strata penetrated, materials and tools used, services rendered, and time required.
  • Maintaining and adjusting machinery for ensuring proper performance.
  • Starting and examining operation of slush pumps for ensuring circulation and consistency of drilling fluid or mud in well.
  • Locating and recovering lost or broken bits, casings, and drill pipes from wells, using special tools.
