Mediators should be capable of:

  • Providing personal assistance, medical attention, emotional support, or other personal care to others such as coworkers, customers, or patients.
  • Developing constructive and cooperative working relationships with others, and maintaining them over time.
  • Performing for people or dealing directly with the public. This includes serving customers in restaurants and stores, and receiving clients or guests.
  • Handling complaints, settling disputes, and resolving grievances and conflicts, or otherwise negotiating with others.

Strategist

Most strategists should excel at:

  • Establishing long-range objectives and specifying the strategies and actions to achieve them.
  • Analyzing information and evaluating results to choose the best solution and solve problems.
  • Developing specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish your work.
  • Scheduling events, programs, and activities, as well as the work of others.

Other work activities related to Prosthodontists

  • Replacing missing teeth and associated oral structures with permanent fixtures, such as implant supported prostheses, crowns and bridges, or removable fixtures, such as dentures.
  • Placing prostheses to patients, making any necessary adjustments and modifications.
  • Designing and fabricating dental prostheses, or supervising dental technicians and laboratory bench workers who are constructing the devices.
  • Measuring and taking impressions of patients’ jaws and teeth for determining the shapes and sizes of dental prostheses, using face bows, dental articulators, recording devices, and other materials.
  • Collaborating with general dentists, specialists, and other health professionals for developing solutions to dental and oral health concerns.
  • Repairing, relining, or rebasing dentures.
  • Using bonding technology on the surface of the teeth for changing the tooth shapes or for closing gaps.
  • Treating facial pain and jaw joint problems.
  • Placing veneers onto teeth to conceal defects.
  • Bleaching discolored teeth to brighten and whiten them.
