Controller

Controllers are expected to be good at:
- Using either control mechanisms or direct physical activity to operate manufacturing systems.
- Working with hand operated industrial machines and power tools.
- Adjusting knobs, levers, and physical or touch sensitive buttons in industrial devices.
- Running, maneuvering, navigating, or driving vehicles or mechanized equipment, such as forklifts, passenger vehicles, aircraft, or watercraft.
Supervisor

Any supervisor should excel at:
- Monitoring and reviewing information from materials, events, or the environment.
- Detecting or assessing problems whether real or potential.
- Monitoring and controlling resources and overseeing the spending of money.
Other work activities related to Power plant operators
- Monitoring power plants equipment and indicators for detecting evidence of operating problems.
- Adjusting controls for generating specified electrical power or to regulating the flow of power between generating stations and substations.
- Controlling power generating equipment, including boilers, turbines, generators, or reactors, using controlling boards or semi automatic equipment.
- Regulating equipment operations and conditions, such as water levels, based on instrument data or from computers.
- Starting or stopping generators, auxiliary pumping equipment, turbines, or other power plants equipment as necessary.
- Inspecting registries or logbook entries or communicating with plants personnel for assessing the equipment operating status.
- Controlling or maintaining auxiliary equipment, such as pumps, fans, compressors, condensers, feedwater heaters, filters, or chlorinators, for supplying water, fuel, lubricants, air, or auxiliary power.
- Cleaning, lubricating, or maintaining equipment, such as generators, turbines, pumps, or compressors, for preventing failure or deterioration.
