Archetype 11 Technician

Technicians will often be asked these tasks:

  • Providing documentation, detailed instructions, drawings, or specifications to tell others about how devices, parts, equipment, or structures are to be fabricated, constructed, assembled, modified, maintained, or used.
  • Using computers and computer systems (including hardware and software) to program, write software, set up functions, enter data, or process information.
  • Servicing, repairing, calibrating, regulating, fine-tuning, or testing machines, devices, and equipment that operate primarily on the basis of electrical or electronic (not mechanical) principles.

Artisan

Archetype 9 Artisan

Great artisans are usually capable of:

  • Using hands and arms in handling, installing, positioning, and moving materials.
  • Performing precise and skillful manipulation of small objects.
  • Being active and proactive in regards to physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling materials.

Other work activities related to Mobile heavy equipment mechanics, except engines

  • Repairing, rewire, and troubleshooting electrical systems.
  • Researching, order, and maintaining parts inventory for services and repairs.
  • Testing mechanical products and equipment after repairing or assembly for ensuring proper performance and compliance with manufacturers’ specifications.
  • Repairing and replacing damaged or worn parts.
  • Operating and inspecting machines or heavy equipment for diagnosing defects.
  • Diagnosing faults or malfunctions for determining required repairs, using engine diagnostic equipment such as computerized testing equipment and calibration devices.
  • Dismantling and reassembling heavy equipment using hoists and hand tools.
  • Cleaning, lubricating, and performing other routine maintenance working on equipment and vehicles.
  • Examining parts for damage or excessive wear, using micrometers and gauges.
  • Scheduling maintenance for industrial machines and equipment, and keep equipment service records.
  • Reading and understanding operating manuals, blueprints, and technical drawings.
