Archetype 2 Mentor

Any mentor is expected to perform well at:

  • Identifying the developmental needs of others and coaching, mentoring, or otherwise helping others to improve their knowledge or skills.
  • Providing guidance and direction to subordinates, including setting performance standards and monitoring performance.
  • Convincing others to accept and idea or to otherwise change their minds or actions in accordance to the companies objectives.
  • Identifying the educational needs of others, developing formal educational or training programs or classes, and teaching or instructing others.

Inspector

Archetype 6 Inspector

Inspectors should be great at:

  • Estimating sizes, distances, and quantities; or determining time, costs, resources, or materials needed to perform a work activity.
  • Observing, receiving, and otherwise obtaining information from all relevant sources.
  • Identifying information by categorizing, estimating, recognizing differences or similarities, and detecting changes in circumstances or events.
  • Inspecting equipment, structures, or materials to identify the cause of errors or other problems or defects.

Other work activities related to Legislators

  • Analyzing and understanding the local and national implications of proposed legislation.
  • Appointing nominees to leadership posts, or approving such appointments.
  • Conferring with colleagues for formulating positions and strategies pertaining to pending issues.
  • Developing expertise in subject matters related to committee assignments.
  • Keeping abreast of the issues affecting constituents by making personal visits and phone calls, reading local newspapers, and viewing or listening to local broadcasts.
  • Maintaining knowledge of relevant national and international current events.
  • Negotiating with colleagues or members of other political parties for reconciling differing interests, and creating policies and agreements.
  • Preparing drafts of amendments, government policies, laws, rules, regulations, budgets, programs and procedures.
  • Reading and reviewing the concerns of constituents or the general public and determining if governmental action is required.
  • Representing their parties in negotiations with political executives or members of other parties, and when speaking with the media.
