Archetype 9 Artisan

Great artisans are usually capable of:

  • Using hands and arms in handling, installing, positioning, and moving materials.
  • Performing precise and skillful manipulation of small objects.
  • Being active and proactive in regards to physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling materials.

Controller

Archetype 4 Controller

Controllers are expected to be good at:

  • Using either control mechanisms or direct physical activity to operate manufacturing systems.
  • Working with hand operated industrial machines and power tools.
  • Adjusting knobs, levers, and physical or touch sensitive buttons in industrial devices.
  • Running, maneuvering, navigating, or driving vehicles or mechanized equipment, such as forklifts, passenger vehicles, aircraft, or watercraft.

Other work activities related to Conveyor operators and tenders

  • Positioning deflector bars, gates, chutes, or spouts to divert flow of materials from one conveyor onto another conveyor.
  • Weighing or measuring materials and products, using scales or other measuring instruments, or reading scales on conveyors that continually weighing products, for verifying specified tonnages and preventing overloads.
  • Manipulating controls, levers, and valves for starting pumps, auxiliary equipment, or conveyors, and for adjusting equipment positions, speeds, timing, and material flows.
  • Recording production data such as weights, types, quantities, and storage locations of materials, as well as equipment performance problems and downtime.
  • Informing supervisors of equipment malfunctions that need to be addressed.
  • Cleaning, sterilizing, and maintaining equipment, machinery, and working stations, using hand tools, shovels, brooms, chemicals, hoses, and lubricants.
  • Observing conveyor operations and monitoring lights, dials, and gauges for maintaining specified operating levels and for detecting equipment malfunctions.
