Innovators will usually have four main goals:

  • Developing or creating new applications, relationships, systems, or products.
  • Providing creative ideas or artistic contributions.
  • Keeping up-to-date technically and applying new knowledge to your job.
  • Benchmarking, experimenting and testing novel approaches to solving problems.

Mentor

Archetype 2 Mentor

Any mentor is expected to perform well at:

  • Identifying the developmental needs of others and coaching, mentoring, or otherwise helping others to improve their knowledge or skills.
  • Providing guidance and direction to subordinates, including setting performance standards and monitoring performance.
  • Convincing others to accept and idea or to otherwise change their minds or actions in accordance to the companies objectives.
  • Identifying the educational needs of others, developing formal educational or training programs or classes, and teaching or instructing others.

Other work activities related to Choreographers

  • Directing rehearsals for instructing dancers in how the usage of dancing steps, and in techniques for achieving the desired effects.
  • Reading and studying story lines and musical scores for translating ideas and moods into dancing movements.
  • Designing dances for individual dancers, dancing companies, musical theatre, opera, fashion shows, film, television productions, and special events, and for dancers ranging from beginners to professionals.
  • Choosing the music, sound effects, or spoken narrative for accompanying the dances.
  • Advising dancers on the proper standing and moving, teaching adequate dancing techniques for reducing or preventing injuries.
  • Coordinating production music with music directors.
  • Auditioning performers for one or more dancing parts.
  • Directing and staging dancing presentations for various forms of entertainment.
  • Developing ideas for creating dances, keeping notes and sketches for recording influences.
