Archetype 4 Controller

Controllers are expected to be good at:

  • Using either control mechanisms or direct physical activity to operate manufacturing systems.
  • Working with hand operated industrial machines and power tools.
  • Adjusting knobs, levers, and physical or touch sensitive buttons in industrial devices.
  • Running, maneuvering, navigating, or driving vehicles or mechanized equipment, such as forklifts, passenger vehicles, aircraft, or watercraft.

Inspector

Archetype 6 Inspector

Inspectors should be great at:

  • Estimating sizes, distances, and quantities; or determining time, costs, resources, or materials needed to perform a work activity.
  • Observing, receiving, and otherwise obtaining information from all relevant sources.
  • Identifying information by categorizing, estimating, recognizing differences or similarities, and detecting changes in circumstances or events.
  • Inspecting equipment, structures, or materials to identify the cause of errors or other problems or defects.

Other work activities related to Bus drivers, transit and intercity

  • Driving vehicles over specified routes or to specified destinations according to time schedules, complying with traffic regulations for ensuring that passengers have smooth and safe rides.
  • Assisting passengers, such as elderly or disabled individuals, for getting on and off the bus, ensuring they are seated properly, carrying baggage, and answering questions about bus schedules or routes.
  • Handling passenger emergencies or disruptions.
  • Recording information, such as cash receipts and ticket fares, and maintaining logbook.
  • Collecting tickets or cash fares from passengers.
  • Maintaining cleanliness of bus or motor coach.
  • Announcing stops to passengers.
  • Reading maps for planning bus routes.
  • Inspecting vehicles and checking gas, oil, and water levels prior to departure.
  • Parking vehicles at loading areas so that passengers can board.
  • Reporting delays or accidents.
  • Advising passengers to be seated and orderly while on vehicles.
  • Regulating heating, lighting, and ventilating systems for passenger comfortability.
