  • Benchmarking, experimenting and testing novel approaches to solving problems.

Artisan

Archetype 9 Artisan

Great artisans are usually capable of:

  • Using hands and arms in handling, installing, positioning, and moving materials.
  • Performing precise and skillful manipulation of small objects.
  • Being active and proactive in regards to physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling materials.

Other work activities related to Automotive engineering technicians

  • Building instrumentation or laboratory testing equipment for special purposes.
  • Ordering new testing equipment, supplies, or replacement parts.
  • Setting up mechanical, hydraulic, or electric testing equipment in accordance with engineering specifications, standards, or testing procedures.
  • Recommending tests or testing conditions in accordance with designs, customer requirements, or industry standards for ensuring testing validity.
  • Monitoring computer controlled testing equipment, according to written or verbal instructions.
  • Reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, working specifications, drawings, or charts.
  • Maintaining testing equipment in operational conditions by performing routine maintenance or making minor repairs or adjustments as needed.
  • Installing equipment, such as instrumentation, testing equipment, engines, or aftermarket products, for ensuring proper interfaces.
  • Inspecting or testing parts for determining nature or cause of defects or malfunctions.
