Mediator

Mediators should be capable of:
- Providing personal assistance, medical attention, emotional support, or other personal care to others such as coworkers, customers, or patients.
- Developing constructive and cooperative working relationships with others, and maintaining them over time.
- Performing for people or dealing directly with the public. This includes serving customers in restaurants and stores, and receiving clients or guests.
- Handling complaints, settling disputes, and resolving grievances and conflicts, or otherwise negotiating with others.
Strategist

Most strategists should excel at:
- Establishing long-range objectives and specifying the strategies and actions to achieve them.
- Analyzing information and evaluating results to choose the best solution and solve problems.
- Developing specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish your work.
- Scheduling events, programs, and activities, as well as the work of others.
Other work activities related to Athletic trainers
- Performing general administrative tasks, such as keeping records or writing reports.
- Filing athlete insurance claims and communicating with insurance providers.
- Teaching sports medicine courses to athletic training students.
- Conducting an initial assessment of an athlete’s injury or illness for providing emergency or continued caring and for determining whether they should be referred to physicians for definitive diagnosis and treatment.
- Caring for athletic injuries, using physical therapy equipment, techniques, or medication.
- Evaluating athletes’ readiness for playing and providing participation clearances when necessary and warranted.
- Applying protective or injury preventive devices, such as tape, bandages, or braces, to body parts, such as ankles, fingers, or wrists.
- Assessing and reporting the progress of recovering athletes to coaches or physicians.
- Collaborating with physicians for developing and implementing comprehensive rehabilitation programs for athletic injuries.
- Advising athletes on the proper using of equipment.
