Archetype 1 Administrator

Any administrator should excel at:

  • Providing information to supervisors, co-workers, and subordinates, as well as communicating with people outside the organization, representing the organization to customers, the public, government, and other external sources. This information can be exchanged in person, in writing, or by telephone or e-mail.
  • Maintaining information files and processing paperwork.
  • Recruiting, interviewing, selecting, hiring, and promoting employees in an organization, and getting them to work together to accomplish tasks by encouraging and building mutual trust, respect, and cooperation.

Mediator

Archetype 7 Mediator

Mediators should be capable of:

  • Providing personal assistance, medical attention, emotional support, or other personal care to others such as coworkers, customers, or patients.
  • Developing constructive and cooperative working relationships with others, and maintaining them over time.
  • Performing for people or dealing directly with the public. This includes serving customers in restaurants and stores, and receiving clients or guests.
  • Handling complaints, settling disputes, and resolving grievances and conflicts, or otherwise negotiating with others.

Other work activities related to Agents and business managers of artists, performers, and athletes

  • Collecting fees, commissions, or other payments, according to contracts terms.
  • Conferring with clients for developing strategies for their careers, and for explaining the actions taken on their behalf.
  • Developing contacts with individuals and organizations, and applying effective strategies and techniques for ensuring their clients’ success.
  • Scheduling promotional or performance engagements for clients.
  • Negotiating with managers, promoters, union officials, and other persons regarding clients’ contractual rights and obligations.
  • Keeping informed of industry trends and deals.
  • Managing business and financial affairs for clients, such as arranging travel and lodging, selling tickets, and directing marketing and advertising activities.
  • Conducting auditions or interviews for evaluating potential clients.
  • Arranging meetings concerning issues involving their clients.
  • Preparing periodic accounting statements for clients.
  • Advising clients on financial and legal matters such as investments and taxes.
