- Developing or creating new applications, relationships, systems, or products.
- Providing creative ideas or artistic contributions.
- Keeping up-to-date technically and applying new knowledge to your job.
- Benchmarking, experimenting and testing novel approaches to solving problems.
Technician

Technicians will often be asked these tasks:
- Providing documentation, detailed instructions, drawings, or specifications to tell others about how devices, parts, equipment, or structures are to be fabricated, constructed, assembled, modified, maintained, or used.
- Using computers and computer systems (including hardware and software) to program, write software, set up functions, enter data, or process information.
- Servicing, repairing, calibrating, regulating, fine-tuning, or testing machines, devices, and equipment that operate primarily on the basis of electrical or electronic (not mechanical) principles.
Other work activities related to Aerospace engineering and operations technicians
- Inspecting, diagnosing, maintaining, and operating testing setups and equipment for detecting malfunctions.
- Recording and interpreting testing data on parts, assemblies, and mechanisms.
- Conferring with engineering personnel regarding details and implications of testing procedures and results.
- Adjusting, repairing or replacing faulty components of testing setups and equipment.
- Identifying required data, data acquisition plans and testing parameters, setting up equipment to conform to these specifications.
- Constructing and maintaining testing facilities for aircraft parts and systems, according to specifications.
- Operating and calibrating computer systems and devices for complying with testing requirements and to performing data acquisition and analysis.
- Testing aircraft systems under simulated operational conditions, performing systems readiness tests and pre and post operational checkouts, to establishing design or fabrication parameters.
- Fabricating and installing parts and systems to be tested in testing equipment, using hand tools, power tools, and testing instruments.
