Archetype 7 Mediator

Mediators should be capable of:

  • Providing personal assistance, medical attention, emotional support, or other personal care to others such as coworkers, customers, or patients.
  • Developing constructive and cooperative working relationships with others, and maintaining them over time.
  • Performing for people or dealing directly with the public. This includes serving customers in restaurants and stores, and receiving clients or guests.
  • Handling complaints, settling disputes, and resolving grievances and conflicts, or otherwise negotiating with others.

Inspector

Archetype 6 Inspector

Inspectors should be great at:

  • Estimating sizes, distances, and quantities; or determining time, costs, resources, or materials needed to perform a work activity.
  • Observing, receiving, and otherwise obtaining information from all relevant sources.
  • Identifying information by categorizing, estimating, recognizing differences or similarities, and detecting changes in circumstances or events.
  • Inspecting equipment, structures, or materials to identify the cause of errors or other problems or defects.

Other work activities related to Advanced practice psychiatric nurses

  • Teaching classes in mental health topics such as stress reduction.
  • Participating in activities aimed at professional growth and development including conferences or continuing education activities.
  • Monitoring the using and status of medical and pharmaceutical supplies.
  • Developing practice protocols for mental health problems based on reviewing and evaluation of published researching.
  • Developing, implementing, or evaluating programs such as outreach activities, community mental health programs, and crisis situation response activities.
  • Treating patients for routine physical health problems.
  • Writing prescriptions for psychotropic medications as allowed by state regulations and collaborative practice agreements.
  • Referring patients requiring more specialized or complex treatment to psychiatrists, primary caring physicians, or other medical specialists.
  • Providing routine physical health screenings for detecting or monitoring problems such as heart disease and diabetes.
