Archetype 4 Controller

Controllers are expected to be good at:

  • Using either control mechanisms or direct physical activity to operate manufacturing systems.
  • Working with hand operated industrial machines and power tools.
  • Adjusting knobs, levers, and physical or touch sensitive buttons in industrial devices.
  • Running, maneuvering, navigating, or driving vehicles or mechanized equipment, such as forklifts, passenger vehicles, aircraft, or watercraft.

Artisan

Archetype 9 Artisan

Great artisans are usually capable of:

  • Using hands and arms in handling, installing, positioning, and moving materials.
  • Performing precise and skillful manipulation of small objects.
  • Being active and proactive in regards to physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling materials.

Other work activities related to Pressers, textile, garment, and related materials

  • Operating steam, hydraulic, or other pressing machines for removing wrinkles from garments and flatwork items, or for shaping, forming, or patching those articles.
  • Lowering irons, rams, or pressing heads of machines into their positions over material to be pressed.
  • Removing finished pieces from pressing machines and hanging or stacking them for cooling, or forwarding them for additional processing.
  • Hanging, folding, packaging, and tagging finished articles for delivery to customers.
  • Slide material back and forth over heated, metal, ball shaped forms for smoothing and press portions of garments that cannot be satisfactorily pressed with flat pressers or hand irons.
  • Selecting appropriate pressing machines, based on garment properties such as heat tolerance.
  • Pushing and pulling irons over surfaces of articles for smoothing or shaping them.
  • Finishing pleated garments, determining sizes of pleats from evidence of old pleats or from working orders, using machine presses or hand irons.
  • Straightening, smoothing, or shaping materials to preparing them for pressing.
