Technician

Technicians will often be asked these tasks:
- Providing documentation, detailed instructions, drawings, or specifications to tell others about how devices, parts, equipment, or structures are to be fabricated, constructed, assembled, modified, maintained, or used.
- Using computers and computer systems (including hardware and software) to program, write software, set up functions, enter data, or process information.
- Servicing, repairing, calibrating, regulating, fine-tuning, or testing machines, devices, and equipment that operate primarily on the basis of electrical or electronic (not mechanical) principles.
Innovator

Innovators will usually have four main goals:
- Developing or creating new applications, relationships, systems, or products.
- Providing creative ideas or artistic contributions.
- Keeping up-to-date technically and applying new knowledge to your job.
- Benchmarking, experimenting and testing novel approaches to solving problems.

- Disassembling entertainment equipment and repairing or replacing loose, worn, or defective components and wiring, using hand tools and soldering irons.
- Installing, service, and repairing electronic equipment or instruments such as televisions, radios, and videocassette recorders.
- Calibrating and testing equipment, and locating circuit and component faults, using hand and power tools and measuring and testing instruments such as resistance meters and oscilloscopes.
- Conferring with customers for determining the nature of problems or for explaining repairs.
- Tuning or adjusting equipment and instruments for obtaining optimum visual or auditory reception, according to specifications, manuals, and drawings.
- Instructing customers on the safe and proper using of equipment.
- Computing cost estimates for labor and materials.
- Reading and interpreting electronic circuit diagrams, function block diagrams, specifications, engineering drawings, and service manuals.
- Keeping records of working orders and testing and maintenance reports.
