Great artisans are usually capable of:

  • Using hands and arms in handling, installing, positioning, and moving materials.
  • Performing precise and skillful manipulation of small objects.
  • Being active and proactive in regards to physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling materials.

Administrator

Archetype 1 Administrator

Any administrator should excel at:

  • Providing information to supervisors, co-workers, and subordinates, as well as communicating with people outside the organization, representing the organization to customers, the public, government, and other external sources. This information can be exchanged in person, in writing, or by telephone or e-mail.
  • Maintaining information files and processing paperwork.
  • Recruiting, interviewing, selecting, hiring, and promoting employees in an organization, and getting them to work together to accomplish tasks by encouraging and building mutual trust, respect, and cooperation.

Other work activities related to Painters, construction and maintenance

  • Covering surfaces with dropcloths or masking tape and paper for protecting surfaces during painting.
  • Filling cracks, holes, or joints with caulk, putty, plaster, or other fillers, using caulking guns or putty knives.
  • Applying primers or sealers to preparing new surfaces, such as bare wood or metal, for finishing coats.
  • Applying paints, stains, varnishes, enamels, or other finishes to equipment, buildings, bridges, or other structures, using brushes, spraying guns, or rollers.
  • Calculating the amounts of required materials and estimating costs, based on surface measurements or working orders.
  • Reading working orders or receiving instructions from supervisors or homeowners for determining working requirements.
  • Erecting scaffolding or swinging gates, or setting up ladders, to working above ground levels.
  • Removing fixtures such as pictures, door knobs, lamps, or electric switch covers prior to painting.
  • Washing and treating surfaces with oil, turpentine, mildew remover, or other preparations, and sanding rough spots for ensuring that finishes are adhering properly.
