Archetype 7 Mediator

Mediators should be capable of:

  • Providing personal assistance, medical attention, emotional support, or other personal care to others such as coworkers, customers, or patients.
  • Developing constructive and cooperative working relationships with others, and maintaining them over time.
  • Performing for people or dealing directly with the public. This includes serving customers in restaurants and stores, and receiving clients or guests.
  • Handling complaints, settling disputes, and resolving grievances and conflicts, or otherwise negotiating with others.

Supervisor

Archetype 10 Supervisor

Any supervisor should excel at:

  • Monitoring and reviewing information from materials, events, or the environment.
  • Detecting or assessing problems whether real or potential.
  • Monitoring and controlling resources and overseeing the spending of money.

Other work activities related to Emergency medical technicians and paramedics

  • Attending training classes for maintaining certification licensure, keep abreast of new developments in the field, or maintaining existing knowledge.
  • Administering first aid treatment or life supports to sick or injured persons in prehospital settings.
  • Operating equipment, such as electrocardiograms (ekgs), external defibrillators, or bag valve mask resuscitators, in advanced life supporting environments.
  • Assessing nature and extent of illness or injury to establishing and prioritize medical procedures.
  • Maintaining vehicles and medical and communication equipment and replenish first aid equipment and supplies.
  • Observing, recording, and reporting to physician the patient’s conditions or injuries, the treatment provided, and reactions to drugs or treatment.
  • Performing emergency diagnostic and treatment procedures, such as stomach suction, airway management, or heart monitoring, during ambulance rides.
  • Administering drugs, orally or by injection, or performing intravenous procedures under a physician’s direction.
