Analyzer

Analyzers will often perform the following tasks:
- Identifying the underlying principles, reasons, or facts of information by breaking down information or data into separate parts.
- Using relevant information and individual judgment to determine whether events or processes comply with laws, regulations, or standards.
- Assessing the value, importance, or quality of things or people.
- Compiling, coding, categorizing, calculating, tabulating, auditing, or verifying information or data.
Inspector

Inspectors should be great at:
- Estimating sizes, distances, and quantities; or determining time, costs, resources, or materials needed to perform a work activity.
- Observing, receiving, and otherwise obtaining information from all relevant sources.
- Identifying information by categorizing, estimating, recognizing differences or similarities, and detecting changes in circumstances or events.
- Inspecting equipment, structures, or materials to identify the cause of errors or other problems or defects.
Other work activities related to Cost estimators
- Collecting historical cost data for estimating costs for current or future products.
- Analyzing blueprints and other documentation to preparing time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.
- Assessing cost effectiveness of products, projects or services, tracking actual costs relative to bids as the project develops.
- Consulting with clients, vendors, personnel in other departments, or construction foremen for discussing and formulating estimates and resolving issues.
- Conferring with engineers, architects, owners, contractors, and subcontractors on changes and adjustments to cost estimates.
- Preparing estimates used by management for purposes such as planning, organizing, and scheduling working.
- Preparing estimates for using in selecting vendors or subcontractors.
- Reviewing material and labor requirements for deciding whether it is more cost effective for producing or purchasing components.
- Preparing cost and expenditure statements and other necessary documentation at regular intervals for the duration of the project.
