Archetype 3 Analyzer

Analyzers will often perform the following tasks:

  • Identifying the underlying principles, reasons, or facts of information by breaking down information or data into separate parts.
  • Using relevant information and individual judgment to determine whether events or processes comply with laws, regulations, or standards.
  • Assessing the value, importance, or quality of things or people.
  • Compiling, coding, categorizing, calculating, tabulating, auditing, or verifying information or data.

Inspector

Archetype 6 Inspector

Inspectors should be great at:

  • Estimating sizes, distances, and quantities; or determining time, costs, resources, or materials needed to perform a work activity.
  • Observing, receiving, and otherwise obtaining information from all relevant sources.
  • Identifying information by categorizing, estimating, recognizing differences or similarities, and detecting changes in circumstances or events.
  • Inspecting equipment, structures, or materials to identify the cause of errors or other problems or defects.

Other work activities related to Cost estimators

  • Collecting historical cost data for estimating costs for current or future products.
  • Analyzing blueprints and other documentation to preparing time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.
  • Assessing cost effectiveness of products, projects or services, tracking actual costs relative to bids as the project develops.
  • Consulting with clients, vendors, personnel in other departments, or construction foremen for discussing and formulating estimates and resolving issues.
  • Conferring with engineers, architects, owners, contractors, and subcontractors on changes and adjustments to cost estimates.
  • Preparing estimates used by management for purposes such as planning, organizing, and scheduling working.
  • Preparing estimates for using in selecting vendors or subcontractors.
  • Reviewing material and labor requirements for deciding whether it is more cost effective for producing or purchasing components.
  • Preparing cost and expenditure statements and other necessary documentation at regular intervals for the duration of the project.
