Directly supervise and coordinate activities of workers engaged in preparing and serving food.

Direct and may participate in the preparation, seasoning, and cooking of salads, soups, fish, meats, vegetables, desserts, or other foods. They plan and price menu items, order supplies, and keep records and accounts.

Implement procedures and systems to prevent merchandise loss. They conduct audits and investigations of employee activity. They assist in developing policies, procedures, and systems for safeguarding assets.

Monitor recreational areas, such as pools, beaches, or ski slopes to provide assistance and protection to participants.

Guide or control vehicular or pedestrian traffic at such places as streets, schools, railroad crossings, or construction sites.

Act as oversight and security agent for management and customers. They observe casino or casino hotel operation for irregular activities such as cheating or theft by either employees or patrons. They use audio/video equipment or one way mirrors above the casino floor or cashier's cage. They provide verbal and written reports of all violations and suspicious behavior.

Handle animals for the purpose of investigations of mistreatment, or control of abandoned, dangerous, or unattended animals.

Protect and police railroad and transit property, employees, or passengers.

Enforce law and order in rural or unincorporated districts or serve legal processes of courts. They patrol courthouse, guard court or grand jury, or escort defendants.

Patrol assigned area to enforce laws and ordinances, regulate traffic, control crowds, prevent crime, and arrest violators.
