  • Using hands and arms in handling, installing, positioning, and moving materials.
  • Performing precise and skillful manipulation of small objects.
  • Being active and proactive in regards to physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling materials.

Supervisor

Archetype 10 Supervisor

Any supervisor should excel at:

  • Monitoring and reviewing information from materials, events, or the environment.
  • Detecting or assessing problems whether real or potential.
  • Monitoring and controlling resources and overseeing the spending of money.

Other work activities related to Tire repairers and changers

  • Unbolting and removing wheels from vehicles, using lug wrenches or other hand or power tools.
  • Identifying tire size and ply and inflate tires accordingly.
  • Assisting mechanics and performing various mechanical duties, such as changing oil or checking and replacing batteries.
  • Cleaning and tidying up the shop.
  • Rolling new rubber treads, known as camelbacks, over tire casings and molding the semi raw rubber treads onto the buffed casings.
  • Placing tire casings and tread rubber assemblies in tire molds for the vulcanization procedure and exerting pressure for ensuring a good adhesion.
  • Placing wheels on balancing machines for determining counterweights required for balancing wheels.
  • Raising vehicles, using hydraulic jacks.
  • Remounting wheels onto vehicles.
  • Locating punctures in tubeless tires by visual inspection or by immersing inflated tires in water baths and observing air bubbles.
  • Reassembling tires onto wheels.
  • Replacing valve stems and removing puncturing objects.
