Archetype 2 Mentor

Any mentor is expected to perform well at:

  • Identifying the developmental needs of others and coaching, mentoring, or otherwise helping others to improve their knowledge or skills.
  • Providing guidance and direction to subordinates, including setting performance standards and monitoring performance.
  • Convincing others to accept and idea or to otherwise change their minds or actions in accordance to the companies objectives.
  • Identifying the educational needs of others, developing formal educational or training programs or classes, and teaching or instructing others.

Administrator

Archetype 1 Administrator

Any administrator should excel at:

  • Providing information to supervisors, co-workers, and subordinates, as well as communicating with people outside the organization, representing the organization to customers, the public, government, and other external sources. This information can be exchanged in person, in writing, or by telephone or e-mail.
  • Maintaining information files and processing paperwork.
  • Recruiting, interviewing, selecting, hiring, and promoting employees in an organization, and getting them to work together to accomplish tasks by encouraging and building mutual trust, respect, and cooperation.

Other work activities related to Supervisors of housekeeping and janitorial workers

  • Checking and maintaining equipment for ensuring that it is in working order.
  • Performing grounds maintenance tasks, such as removing snow and mowing the lawn.
  • Directing activities for stopping the spreading of infections in facilities, such as hospitals.
  • Inspecting working performed for ensuring that it meets specifications and established standards.
  • Planning and preparing employee working schedules.
  • Performing or assisting with cleaning duties as necessary.
  • Investigating complaints about service and equipment, and taking corrective action.
  • Coordinating activities with other departments for ensuring that services are provided in an efficient and timely manner.
  • Inspecting and evaluating the physical conditions of facilities for determining the types of working required.
  • Selecting the most suitable cleaning materials for different types of linens, furniture, flooring, and surfaces.
  • Instructing staff in working policies and procedures, and the using and maintenance of equipment.
  • Forecasting the necessary levels of staffing and stocks at different times for facilitating effective scheduling and ordering.
