Archetype 9 Artisan

Great artisans are usually capable of:

  • Using hands and arms in handling, installing, positioning, and moving materials.
  • Performing precise and skillful manipulation of small objects.
  • Being active and proactive in regards to physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling materials.

Controller

Archetype 4 Controller

Controllers are expected to be good at:

  • Using either control mechanisms or direct physical activity to operate manufacturing systems.
  • Working with hand operated industrial machines and power tools.
  • Adjusting knobs, levers, and physical or touch sensitive buttons in industrial devices.
  • Running, maneuvering, navigating, or driving vehicles or mechanized equipment, such as forklifts, passenger vehicles, aircraft, or watercraft.

Other work activities related to Structural iron and steel workers

  • Reading specifications or blueprints for determining the locations, quantities, or sizes of materials required.
  • Verifying vertical and horizontal alignment of structural steel members, using plumb bobs, laser equipment, transits, or levels.
  • Connecting columns, beams, and girders with bolts, following blueprints and instructions from supervisors.
  • Bolting aligned structural steel members in their positions for permanent riveting, bolting, or welding in place.
  • Riding on girders or other structural steel members for positioning them or using rope for guiding them into their places.
  • Fabricating metal parts, such as steel frames, columns, beams, or girders, according to blueprints or instructions from supervisors.
  • Pulling, pushing, or prying structural steel members into approximate positions for bolting in place.
  • Cutting, bending, or welding steel pieces, using metal shears, torches, or welding equipment.
  • Fastening structural steel members to hoist cables, using chains, cables, or rope.
