Technician

Technicians will often be asked these tasks:
- Providing documentation, detailed instructions, drawings, or specifications to tell others about how devices, parts, equipment, or structures are to be fabricated, constructed, assembled, modified, maintained, or used.
- Using computers and computer systems (including hardware and software) to program, write software, set up functions, enter data, or process information.
- Servicing, repairing, calibrating, regulating, fine-tuning, or testing machines, devices, and equipment that operate primarily on the basis of electrical or electronic (not mechanical) principles.
Innovator

Innovators will usually have four main goals:
- Developing or creating new applications, relationships, systems, or products.
- Providing creative ideas or artistic contributions.
- Keeping up-to-date technically and applying new knowledge to your job.
- Benchmarking, experimenting and testing novel approaches to solving problems.
Other work activities related to Software quality assurance engineers and testers
- Designing testing plans, scenarios, scripts, or procedures.
- Testing system modifications to preparing for implementation.
- Developing testing programs that address areas such as database impacts, software scenarios, regression testing, negative testing, error or bug retests, or usability.
- Identifying, analyzing, and documenting problems with the programs function, output, frontend design, or content.
- Monitoring bug resolution efforts and tracking successes.
- Creating or maintaining databases of known testing defects.
- Planning testing schedules or strategies in accordance with project scope or delivery dates.
- Participating in product design reviews for providing inputs on functional requirements, product designs, schedules, or potential problems.
- Reviewing software documentation for ensuring technical accuracy, compliance, or completeness, or to mitigate risks.
- Documenting testing procedures for ensuring replicability and compliance with standards.
