Mediators should be capable of:
- Providing personal assistance, medical attention, emotional support, or other personal care to others such as coworkers, customers, or patients.
- Developing constructive and cooperative working relationships with others, and maintaining them over time.
- Performing for people or dealing directly with the public. This includes serving customers in restaurants and stores, and receiving clients or guests.
- Handling complaints, settling disputes, and resolving grievances and conflicts, or otherwise negotiating with others.
Strategist

Most strategists should excel at:
- Establishing long-range objectives and specifying the strategies and actions to achieve them.
- Analyzing information and evaluating results to choose the best solution and solve problems.
- Developing specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish your work.
- Scheduling events, programs, and activities, as well as the work of others.

- Treating bone, muscle, and joint disorders affecting the feet and ankles.
- Diagnosing diseases and deformities of the foot using medical histories, physical examinations, x rays, and laboratory testing results.
- Prescribing medications, corrective devices, physical therapy, or surgery.
- Surgically treating conditions such as corns, calluses, ingrown nails, tumors, shortened tendons, bunions, cysts, or abscesses.
- Advising patients about treatments and foot caring techniques necessary for prevention of future problems.
- Referring patients to physicians when symptoms indicative of systemic disorders, such as arthritis or diabetes, are observed in feet and legs.
- Correcting deformities by means of plaster casts and strapping.
- Making and fitting prosthetic appliances.
- Performing administrative duties, such as hiring employees, ordering supplies, or keeping records.
- Educating the public about the benefits of foot caring through techniques such as speaking engagements, advertising, and other forums.
