Controller

Archetype 4 Controller

Controllers are expected to be good at:

  • Using either control mechanisms or direct physical activity to operate manufacturing systems.
  • Working with hand operated industrial machines and power tools.
  • Adjusting knobs, levers, and physical or touch sensitive buttons in industrial devices.
  • Running, maneuvering, navigating, or driving vehicles or mechanized equipment, such as forklifts, passenger vehicles, aircraft, or watercraft.

Other work activities related to Photographic process workers and processing machine operators

  • Creating prints according to customer specifications and laboratory protocols.
  • Examining developed prints for defects, such as broken lines, spots, or blurs.
  • Filling tanks of processing machines with solutions such as developer, dyes, stop baths, fixers, bleaches, or washes.
  • Immersing film, negatives, paper, or prints in developing solutions, fixing solutions, and water for completing photographic development processes.
  • Loading circuit boards, racks or rolls of film, negatives, or printing paper into processing or printing machines.
  • Loading digital images onto computers directly from cameras or from storage devices, such as flash memory cards or universal serial bus (USB) devices.
  • Maintaining records, such as quantities or types of processing completed, materials used, or customer charges.
  • Measuring and mixing chemicals to preparing solutions for processing, according to formulas.
  • Monitoring equipment operation for detecting malfunctions.
  • Operating machines for preparing circuit boards and for exposing, developing, etching, fixing, washing, drying, or printing film or plates.
