Archetype 6 Inspector

Inspectors should be great at:

  • Estimating sizes, distances, and quantities; or determining time, costs, resources, or materials needed to perform a work activity.
  • Observing, receiving, and otherwise obtaining information from all relevant sources.
  • Identifying information by categorizing, estimating, recognizing differences or similarities, and detecting changes in circumstances or events.
  • Inspecting equipment, structures, or materials to identify the cause of errors or other problems or defects.

Mediator

Archetype 7 Mediator

Mediators should be capable of:

  • Providing personal assistance, medical attention, emotional support, or other personal care to others such as coworkers, customers, or patients.
  • Developing constructive and cooperative working relationships with others, and maintaining them over time.
  • Performing for people or dealing directly with the public. This includes serving customers in restaurants and stores, and receiving clients or guests.
  • Handling complaints, settling disputes, and resolving grievances and conflicts, or otherwise negotiating with others.

Other work activities related to Pest control workers

  • Recommending treatment and prevention methods for pest problems to clients.
  • Measuring area dimensions requiring treatment, calculating fumigant requirements, and estimating cost for service.
  • Recording working activities performed.
  • Inspecting premises for identifying infestation source and extent of damage to property, wall, or roof porosity and access to infested locations.
  • Spraying or dusting chemical solutions, powders, or gases into rooms, onto clothing, furnishings, or wood, or over marshlands, ditches, or catch basins.
  • Cleaning working site after completion of job.
  • Directing or assisting other workers in treatment or extermination processes for eliminating or controlling rodents, insects, or weeds.
  • Driving truck equipped with power spraying equipment.
  • Cutting or boring openings in building or surrounding concrete, accessing infested areas, inserting nozzles, and injecting pesticide for impregnating the grounds.
  • Studying preliminary reports or diagrams of infested area and determining the types of treatment required for eliminating and preventing recurrence of infestation.
