Controllers are expected to be good at:

  • Using either control mechanisms or direct physical activity to operate manufacturing systems.
  • Working with hand operated industrial machines and power tools.
  • Adjusting knobs, levers, and physical or touch sensitive buttons in industrial devices.
  • Running, maneuvering, navigating, or driving vehicles or mechanized equipment, such as forklifts, passenger vehicles, aircraft, or watercraft.

Artisan

Archetype 9 Artisan

Great artisans are usually capable of:

  • Using hands and arms in handling, installing, positioning, and moving materials.
  • Performing precise and skillful manipulation of small objects.
  • Being active and proactive in regards to physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling materials.

Other work activities related to Motorboat operators

  • Following safety procedures for ensuring the protection of passengers, cargo, and vessels.
  • Operating engine throttles and steering mechanisms for guiding boats on desired courses.
  • Directing safety operations in emergency situations.
  • Issuing directions for loading, unloading, and seating in boats.
  • Securing boats to docks with mooring lines, and casting off lines for enabling the departure.
  • Maintaining equipment such as range markers, fire extinguishers, boat fenders, lines, pumps, and fittings.
  • Reporting any observed navigational hazards to authorities.
  • Servicing motors by performing tasks such as changing oil and lubricating parts.
  • Arranging repairs, fuel, and supplies for vessels.
  • Organizing and directing the activities of crew members.
  • Towing, pushing, or guiding other boats, barges, logs, or rafts.
  • Cleaning boats and repairing hulls and superstructures, using hand tools, paint, and brushes.
  • Overseeing operation of vessels used for carrying passengers, motor vehicles, or goods across rivers, harbors, lakes, and coastal waters.
