Any supervisor should excel at:

Analyzer

Analyzers will often perform the following tasks:
- Identifying the underlying principles, reasons, or facts of information by breaking down information or data into separate parts.
- Using relevant information and individual judgment to determine whether events or processes comply with laws, regulations, or standards.
- Assessing the value, importance, or quality of things or people.
- Compiling, coding, categorizing, calculating, tabulating, auditing, or verifying information or data.
Other work activities related to Medical equipment preparers
- Stocking crash carts or other medical supplies.
- Maintaining records of inventory or equipment usage and ordering medical instruments or supplies when inventory is low.
- Organizing and assembling routine or specialty surgical instrument trays or other sterilized supplies, filling special requests as needed.
- Cleaning instruments to preparing them for sterilization.
- Operating and maintaining steam autoclaves, keeping records of loads completed, items in loads, and maintenance procedures performed.
- Recording sterilizer testing results.
- Disinfecting and sterilizing equipment such as respirators, hospital beds, or oxygen or dialysis equipment, using sterilizers, aerators, or washers.
- Starting equipment and observing gauges and equipment operation for detecting malfunctions and for ensuring equipment is operating to prescribed standards.
- Examining equipment for detecting leaks, worn or loose parts, or other indications of disrepair.
- Reporting defective equipment to appropriate supervisors or staff.
- Checking sterile supplies for ensuring that they are not outdated.
