Technician

Technicians will often be asked these tasks:
- Providing documentation, detailed instructions, drawings, or specifications to tell others about how devices, parts, equipment, or structures are to be fabricated, constructed, assembled, modified, maintained, or used.
- Using computers and computer systems (including hardware and software) to program, write software, set up functions, enter data, or process information.
- Servicing, repairing, calibrating, regulating, fine-tuning, or testing machines, devices, and equipment that operate primarily on the basis of electrical or electronic (not mechanical) principles.
Innovator

Innovators will usually have four main goals:
- Developing or creating new applications, relationships, systems, or products.
- Providing creative ideas or artistic contributions.
- Keeping up-to-date technically and applying new knowledge to your job.
- Benchmarking, experimenting and testing novel approaches to solving problems.
Other work activities related to Mechatronics engineers
- Publish engineering reports documenting design details or qualification testing results.
- Providing consultation or training on topics such as mechatronics or automated controlling.
- Overseeing the working of contractors in accordance with project requirements.
- Creating mechanical design documents for parts, assemblies, or finished products.
- Maintaining technical project files.
- Analyzing existing development or manufacturing procedures and suggesting improvements.
- Implementing or testing design solutions.
- Researching, selecting, or applying sensors, communication technologies, or controlling devices for motion controlling, positions sensing, pressure sensing, or electronic communication.
- Identifying and selecting materials appropriate for mechatronic system designs.
- Designing, developing, or implementing controlling circuits or algorithms for electromechanical or pneumatic devices or systems.
- Designing engineering systems for the automation of industrial tasks.
