Innovators will usually have four main goals:
- Developing or creating new applications, relationships, systems, or products.
- Providing creative ideas or artistic contributions.
- Keeping up-to-date technically and applying new knowledge to your job.
- Benchmarking, experimenting and testing novel approaches to solving problems.

- Treating internal disorders, such as hypertension, heart disease, diabetes, or problems of the lung, brain, kidney, or gastrointestinal tract.
- Analyzing records, reports, testing results, or examination information for diagnosing medical conditions of patient.
- Prescribing or administering medication, therapy, and other specialized medical caring for treating or preventing illness, disease, or injury.
- Providing and managing long term, comprehensive medical caring, including diagnosis and nonsurgical treatment of diseases, for adult patients in an office or hospital.
- Managing and treating common health problems, such as infections, influenza or pneumonia, as well as serious, chronic, and complex illnesses, in adolescents, adults, and the elderly.
- Monitoring patients’ conditions and progress and reevaluating treatments as necessary.
- Collecting, recording, and maintaining patient information, such as medical history, reports, or examination results.
