Great artisans are usually capable of:
- Using hands and arms in handling, installing, positioning, and moving materials.
- Performing precise and skillful manipulation of small objects.
- Being active and proactive in regards to physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling materials.
Supervisor

Any supervisor should excel at:
- Monitoring and reviewing information from materials, events, or the environment.
- Detecting or assessing problems whether real or potential.
- Monitoring and controlling resources and overseeing the spending of money.
Other work activities related to Helpers (brickmasons, blockmasons, stonemasons, and tile and marble setters)
- Cutting materials to specified sizes for installation, using power saws or tile cutters.
- Erecting scaffolding or other installation structures.
- Locating and supplying materials to masons for installation, following drawings or numbered sequences.
- Mixing mortar, plaster, and grout, manually or using machines, according to standard formulas.
- Applying grout between joints of bricks or tiles, using grouting trowels.
- Correcting surface imperfections or filling chipped, cracked, or broken bricks or tiles, using fillers, adhesives, or grouting materials.
- Providing assistance in the preparation, installation, repairing, or rebuilding of tiles, bricks, or stone surfaces.
- Cleaning installation surfaces, equipment, tools, working sites, or storage areas, using water, chemical solutions, oxygen lances, or polishing machines.
- Transporting materials, tools, or machines to installation sites, manually or using conveyance equipment.
- Moving or positioning materials such as marble slabs, using cranes, hoists, or dollies.
