Great artisans are usually capable of:
- Using hands and arms in handling, installing, positioning, and moving materials.
- Performing precise and skillful manipulation of small objects.
- Being active and proactive in regards to physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling materials.
Controller

Controllers are expected to be good at:
- Using either control mechanisms or direct physical activity to operate manufacturing systems.
- Working with hand operated industrial machines and power tools.
- Adjusting knobs, levers, and physical or touch sensitive buttons in industrial devices.
- Running, maneuvering, navigating, or driving vehicles or mechanized equipment, such as forklifts, passenger vehicles, aircraft, or watercraft.
Other work activities related to Grinding and polishing workers, hand
- Grinding, sanding, cleaning, or polishing objects or parts for correcting defects or to preparing surfaces for further finishing, using hand tools and power tools.
- Marking defects, such as knotholes, cracks, and splits, for repairing.
- Moving controls for adjusting, starting, or stopping equipment during grinding and polishing processes.
- Selecting files or other abrasives, according to materials, sizes and shapes of workpieces, amount of stocks to be removed, finishes specified, and steps in finishing processes.
- Measuring and marking equipment, objects, or parts for ensuring grinding and polishing standards are met.
- Verifying quality of finished workpieces by inspecting them, comparing them to templates, measuring their dimensions, or testing them in working machinery.
- Recording product and processing data on specified forms.
- Trimming, scraping, or deburring objects or parts, using chisels, scrapers, and other hand tools and equipment.
- Removing completed workpieces from equipment or working tables, using hand tools, and placing workpieces in containers.
