Analyzers will often perform the following tasks:
- Identifying the underlying principles, reasons, or facts of information by breaking down information or data into separate parts.
- Using relevant information and individual judgment to determine whether events or processes comply with laws, regulations, or standards.
- Assessing the value, importance, or quality of things or people.
- Compiling, coding, categorizing, calculating, tabulating, auditing, or verifying information or data.

- Preparing correspondence, reports of inspections or investigations or recommendations for action.
- Examining records, reports, or other documents to establishing facts or detecting discrepancies.
- Monitoring investigations of suspected offenders for ensuring that they are conducted in accordance with constitutional requirements.
- Collecting, identifying, evaluating, or preserving case evidence.
- Inspecting manufactured or processed products for ensuring compliance with contract specifications or legal requirements.
