Archetype 3 Analyzer

Analyzers will often perform the following tasks:

  • Identifying the underlying principles, reasons, or facts of information by breaking down information or data into separate parts.
  • Using relevant information and individual judgment to determine whether events or processes comply with laws, regulations, or standards.
  • Assessing the value, importance, or quality of things or people.
  • Compiling, coding, categorizing, calculating, tabulating, auditing, or verifying information or data.

Inspector

Archetype 6 Inspector

Inspectors should be great at:

  • Estimating sizes, distances, and quantities; or determining time, costs, resources, or materials needed to perform a work activity.
  • Observing, receiving, and otherwise obtaining information from all relevant sources.
  • Identifying information by categorizing, estimating, recognizing differences or similarities, and detecting changes in circumstances or events.
  • Inspecting equipment, structures, or materials to identify the cause of errors or other problems or defects.

Other work activities related to Geoscientists, except hydrologists and geographers

  • Analyzing and interpreting geological data, using computer software.
  • Designing geological mine maps, monitoring the mine’s structural integrity, or advising and monitoring mining crews.
  • Collaborating with medical or health researchers for addressing health problems related to geological materials or processes.
  • Determining methods for incorporating geomethane or methane hydrates into global energy production or evaluating the potential environmental impacts of such incorporation.
  • Determining ways for mitigating the negative consequences of mineral dust dispersion.
  • Developing strategies for more environmentally friendly resource extraction and reclamation.
  • Developing ways for capturing or using gases burned off as waste during oil production processes.
  • Identifying new sources of platinum group elements for industrial applications, such as automotive fuel cells or pollution abatement systems.
  • Locating potential sources of geothermal energy.
