Innovators will usually have four main goals:
- Developing or creating new applications, relationships, systems, or products.
- Providing creative ideas or artistic contributions.
- Keeping up-to-date technically and applying new knowledge to your job.
- Benchmarking, experimenting and testing novel approaches to solving problems.
Inspector

Inspectors should be great at:
- Estimating sizes, distances, and quantities; or determining time, costs, resources, or materials needed to perform a work activity.
- Observing, receiving, and otherwise obtaining information from all relevant sources.
- Identifying information by categorizing, estimating, recognizing differences or similarities, and detecting changes in circumstances or events.
- Inspecting equipment, structures, or materials to identify the cause of errors or other problems or defects.
Other work activities related to Geophysical data technicians
- Preparing notes, sketches, geological maps, or cross sections.
- Reading and studying reports for compiling information and data for geological and geophysical prospecting.
- Interviewing individuals, and researching public databases for obtaining information.
- Assembling, maintaining, or distributing information for library or registry systems.
- Operating or adjusting equipment or apparatus used for obtaining geological data.
- Planning and directing activities of workers who are operating equipment to collecting data.
- Setting up or directing setting up of instruments used to collecting geological data.
- Recording readings for compiling data used in prospecting for oil or gas.
- Supervising oil, water, or gas well drilling activities.
- Collecting samples or cuttings, using equipment or hand tools.
- Creating photographic recordings of information, using equipment.
- Measuring geological characteristics used in prospecting for oil or gas, using measuring instruments.
